Abdul Kadir Kabire, a young brilliant promising Eritrean politician, a Muslim League representative, was fatally wounded by unionist thugs in the main square in Asmara as he was preparing to leave for New York to attend the UN session on the future of Eritrea. He died two 2 days later at the age of 47, on the 29th of March, 1949
