Very vivid pictures from the Eritrean war for independence, dispalyed here as a civil war within Ethiopia: Do you recognise some of the faces?
----------
Salih Gadi Johar, who was the translator for Gewyne Roberts and Nicholas Downey assigned by Hamid Mahmoud when they interviewd the two Americans from Kagnew, recalls that they were sent to Sudan by Hamid Mahmoud (first to the left) the commander in that region. Saleh states that the picture was taken in Addi Tekhlu minutes after they were brought from Kagnew station. He remembers a person named Efrem who was the squad leader who executed the mission (he used to live in Jeddah..with damaged ears due to bomb blasts) Second from left is Kemal M. Ali )
