We need a platform for the 21st century Eritrea

We need a platform for the 21st century Eritrea

Different organisations pop up from time to time: What we need at present is neither reinventing the old ELF of the 60s and 70s nor reinventing the old EPLF of the 80s and 90s as those old formulas are outdated at present. It is important we learn lessons from those experiences and build on that. It is true that based on our previous experiences we have our specific attachments. Thanks to the social media such as the facebook groups and paltalk rooms, we have a new generation of youth (despite their differences) and old fighters that are relatively well informed (information that has been long denied) about those organisations and can not be cheated again.

To the best of my understanding, any effort old or new that facilitates the fall of the regime, is most welcome. At the same time old exclusionary products (ideas, organisations) served in old packages that lack transparency and credibility will not bring the change that empowers the Eritrean people at large.

What we need at present is a common platform that cuts across political organisations, ethnicity, religion and region and that can bring us together to make a difference. We need a platform for the 21st century Eritrea
